Florida Statutes 741.401 - 741.409 is to enable State and Local Agencies to respond to requests for public records without disclosing the location of a victim of domestic violence, enabling cooperation with the Attorney General in providing The Address Confidentiality Program supported by The State of Florida. Domestic Violence Victims will received an ACP CARD to present to local and state agencies giving them authority to protect their address.
Abuse can come from a Man or Woman. Most oftentimes, it occurs also at the workplace and goes unreported because of fear of losing employment, intimidation, and threats from the abuser, even sometimes lead to death. The longer the victim remains quiet, the more confident the abuser believes he or she is in full control.
The person that abuses aims to make the victim believe they have no control, when in fact control is just an illusion from reality.
People with disabilities experience abuse at higher rates than people without disabilities.
Abuse can be Verbal, Physical, Sexual, or Financial and no one has the legal right to abuse someone. Abuse is a crime that must be reported before it is too late.
